I have had the pleasure of getting to know Ms. Hayden on a more personal level over the years and I can easily say I have never met a teacher who is more passionate about her students’ success. No matter what I need help with, Ms. Hayden is always there to give me some guidance. Her positive attitude and spunky personality created a fun learning environment. I could always count on Ms. Hayden’s class to liven up even the longest of days. Her class did not consist of copying notes from PowerPoint day-in and day-out, but of discussions in which students were able to learn not only from the teacher but one another as well. Some of these discussions led to very interesting stories, like the time Ms. Hayden told us she thinks she looks like George Washington – so, we printed out a picture of her and taped it over George Washington’s face on a photograph of Mount Rushmore. Bridesmaids quotes were also a mandatory part of the daily discussions. And I would just like to say “Gracias para viver en la casa, en la escuelas and en azul mercada…”

Ms.Hayden is an amazing teacher, mentor, and friend. She has inspired countless students to do their very best, not only in her class but in life. I could not think of anyone more deserving of the “Favorite Teacher of the Year” award. Congratulations!
