Floral Park Memorial High School concluded its Holiday Food Drive for Island Harvest on Friday, December 9th. This is the fourth consecutive year that Floral Park students, faculty, and staff, under the direction of Student Council and the Social Studies department, have participated in Island Harvest’s “Students Feeding Students Challenge”. This drive was an enormous success with over 3000 pounds of food items donated. In addition, over $1100 was raised through a “Faculty Dress Down Day” and a schoolwide “Ugly Sweater Day” that students, faculty and staff participated in on the final day of the drive. Floral Park has placed 2nd in this challenge for the past three years. Hopefully, this year’s impressive display of generosity catapults Floral Park to the top spot in the region.
