Fashion is not just about clothes or shoes. Fashion is not only about makeup and hair. Fashion is an outlet for millions of people around the world to express themselves. Fashion gives people voice. Fashion says what mere words cannot, and that is why the Sartorial Club was created at Floral Park Memorial.

After the club’s second meeting, I knew we needed something that would not only give our club members a voice, but also provide a voice for anyone who has a passion for fashion. I wanted to create a platform for students to communicate and share ideas because that is what fashion is all about – presenting the unexpected, not following trends.

I had seen ads and watched commercials but I had never anticipated the power of Wix. Wix is a free website builder which allows you to customize your own website. The minute I got home from our club’s meeting, I turned on my computer and searched for Wix. Considering that I do not possess coding skills, the fact that I could create a website with just pictures and text boxes was incredibly helpful. The Sartorial website offers questionnaires, student best-dressed lists, advice on makeovers, cultural fashion, latest trends, newsletters and many other ideas regarding fashion.
