Inspired by the holiday spirit spreading around the nation, the World Language Honor Society at Floral Park Memorial High School decided to make holiday cards for those who need a little extra joy this year. When asked why she believed holiday cards were the best way to give back this holiday season, Ms. Powers, supervisor of the FLHS at FPM, responded, “Unfortunately not all children are able to enjoy the holiday season, and this year I believed that bringing smiles to sick children around the nation was a great way to spread cheer. Anyone can donate toys and gifts, but it takes special people with kind hearts to write thoughtful cards to remind these kids that people are thinking about them this holiday season.”

President Tina Seuling and Vice President Vishal Mirchandani agreed with Ms. Powers and set up a day after school where the WLHS members spent two hours creating cards to send out to sick children who have to spend their holiday season in the hospital. Hopefully these cards bring joy to the children and their families. From everyone in World Language Honor Society, Happy Holidays!
