Mrs. Bellinger’s and Mrs. Ciaffone’s 7th grade English classes were invited down to the library to research prominent Black historical figures. Led by Mrs. Simonofsky, students explored both the historical significance of the month and the ever-growing list of Black men and women who have made a profound impact on our country. Students learned about primary resources and valid websites to research the prominent figure they chose. Using Biography.com they discovered interesting facts about Faith Ringold, Langston Hughes, Ruby Bridges, Martin Luther King Jr., Barrack Obama, Serena Williams, Rosa Parks, and Jesse Owen (just to name a few)!
