Co-editors in chief, Alison Goldberg and Demi Cascio, would like to get the entire Floral Park Memorial school community in the holiday spirit by counting down the remaining days of 2019. If you weren’t prepared for winter, today’s snow at the New York Giants game was quite an eye opener for you.

The holidays are approaching and with that comes time with family, times of giving and holiday joy! Over here at The Shield, we’ve been hard at work preparing for this time of year. What shall we do to add to the holiday spirit? After lots of brainstorming, we’ve come across an idea we think you will all love and appreciate.

Many of our readers are familiar with the YouTube Holiday craze known as “Vlogmas,” which includes the YouTuber posting a new video for every day of December, leading up to Christmas.  So we have decided to put our own spin on it…we introduce to you: 25 Days of Shieldmas! You may ask how this will play out? We will be posting a brand new article for each day in the month of December. All editors and staff members will be expected to work as hard as possible, preparing for these articles. 

The articles will NOT be limited to the holidays, and ALL holidays are welcome to be celebrated. Please feel free to join The Shield, especially if you have a story or opinion that you would like to share with our readers.
