Cooking With James – Pasta With Meat Sauce

Pasta With Meat Sauce Recipe:
- Season 4oz ground beef/turkey (I used 93% lean, 7% fat ground turkey) with sea salt and garlic powder to taste. Mix well.
- Spray a fry pan lightly so the meat doesn’t stick. Cook the meat in the fry pan over medium heat. Try to break up the meat into smaller pieces as it cooks.
- While the meat is cooking, boil about 4oz of pasta according to the box directions (I used Barilla elbows, but you can choose your favorite pasta).
- Drain the pasta and leave it for now.
- Once your meat is browned, break it up into very small pieces. Then, leave it on to simmer.
- Take 1 cup of marinara sauce (I used Barilla Marinara) and pour it over the meat in the saucepan.
- Stir the meat and sauce around until it is well mixed. Then, cover it and leave it on to simmer.
- Pour the drained pasta onto a plate.
- When the meat sauce is a good temperature, pour it over the pasta.
- Optional: I sprinkled parmesan cheese onto mine, but if you want a very cheesy taste, you can put shredded mozzarella cheese on it and put it into the oven under a medium broil for a minute or two.
