After a tough loss against Glen Cove on September 27, 20-10 , the Floral Park Knights were faced with a short week of practice before a Thursday contest with North Shore. In one of the most exciting games in recent memory, the Knights came back from 19 points down in the second half to stun the Vikings on their home turf, 57-54.

The Knights got off to a slow start in the first half, falling behind 14-7. However, quarterback Josh Corbett began the second quarter with a 15-yard touchdown run to tie the score. The game became a back-and-forth affair from this point as the offenses traded touchdowns. After a turnover, Brian Barry caught a 20-yard touchdown from Corbett to give the Knights a 21-20 lead. After two more scores from North Shore, Barry added another of his own as the teams went into halftime with North Shore ahead 34-28.

North Shore opened the second half with a 70-yard touchdown, expanding its lead to 41-28. With two minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Knights trailed by 19 points, 54-35. With Floral Park on the 40 yard line, North Shore recovered a fumble and it appeared that the Knights were going to fall to 1-2. And injured running back Josh Sanders was now joined on the sidelines by two more injured teammates. The game looked all but lost.

But Floral Park pulled off one of its best 4th quarter comebacks with a tremendous effort by the entire team. Wide receiver Frank DeJesus caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Corbett. The defense forced a fumble with eight minutes left. Brian Barry made it a one touchdown game after Corbett launched a 30-yard throw to Barry in the end zone. Trailing 54-48, with 1:46 left on the clock, the Knights were on the 20-yard line. Corbett threw a short pass to Robert Sjoberg on the left side. Sjoberg ran it in to give the Knights an improbable 55-54 lead. The two-point conversion was successful, but the Knights still needed to stop North Shore one more time, clinging to a 57-54 lead.

From near midfield, Corbett intercepted the North Shore quarterback to seal the miraculous comeback for the Knights. Corbett finished 11-19 with 162 passing yards, 130 rushing yards, four passing touchdowns and two rushing scores. Sjoberg had 162 rushing yards with a touchdown and Brian Barry had 106 receiving yards with three touchdowns.
