Boys Volleyball Has a Rollercoaster Season

This year’s Boys Varsity Volleyball season was very similar to a rollercoaster ride. Being told in the beginning of the year that there wasn’t going to be a Volleyball season was very disappointing especially for the three seniors. The team consisted of many first time players which made the start pretty difficult. Players that have been on the team in prior years including the three seniors stepped up and worked with each of the players throughout the season. From the start of the season the boys had a rocky start with a few losses, an injured player and another player stuck in quarantine. However the boys made the most of it, working together on and off the court and eventually turned that losing streak around. Having won against countless skillful teams the boys began to rise in the Nassau Country rankings. The boys played Calhoun High school which was the undefeated #1 ranking team in the division and defeated them in five games, giving Calhoun their first loss. When it came to playoffs the team beat New Hyde Park in the first round but fell short to Bethpage in the second round. Although the team didn’t make it as far as they wanted, the amount of talent and friendships made during the season outweighed the losses. You all should be very proud of yourselves with how the season went. Good luck next year boys. You guys will do great.
