Junior Honor Society Spreads Holiday Joy Through Toy Drive

Christina DePaola, Staff Writer

This year, the Junior Honor Society took part in the Hance Family Foundation Toy Drive. Upon doing so, they asked the students at FPM to donate new, unwrapped toys. Boxes located around the school held the toys which will be donated to children in need. The holidays are a time of joy for most but not all. Many families are not only struggling financially, but in many other ways as well such as the loss of a loved one. The school’s hope with participating in the toy drive was to try to help those children whose families might be going through those things this holiday season. With the help of all the children at FPM, we were able to fill almost every box with toys. Many students have found that in doing this, they learn to appreciate what they have, and feel good that others may have that too this Christmas. The drive was a lesson for all to not take for granted the many gifts of life. I think it’s safe to say, we all bound together this Christmas to help numerous families in need and turn their holiday around.
