The Floral Park Memorial and North Shore varsity baseball teams both have high expectations for this season.  And if the first game is any indication, the teams may see each other again in the playoffs.

Behind a complete-game three hitter by senior John Santoro, the Knights defeated the Vikings 2-1 in the first of a three-game series at North Shore.  Jimmy Guerriero and Chris Stefl each had RBIs.  That was all Santoro needed to earn his first win of the season.  Santoro finished with seven strikeouts and only one walk.

Fifth-year player Mitch Calandra went 1-2 with two walks while senior Bailey Brosnan added a key double.
