After a solid regular season performance, Floral Park Memorial’s boys varsity soccer team looks to extend its season with an impressive playoff run. The boys finished in fourth place in Conference A-II, earning the 6th seed in the post-season. With perennial powers Garden City, Jericho and South Side on the other side of the bracket, the Knights are hopeful that their stay in the playoffs can last a few games.

Or as senior Jonathan Ferone said, “LIC (Long Island Championship) bound!”

The Knights open the playoffs with a home game on Friday, October 23 against the 11th seeded Quakers from Friends Academy. Friends finished its season in third place in Conference AB-3.

The deep roster for the Knights has the players confident at the playoffs begin.

“Every player on the team has great vision and awareness that can really guide us through playoffs,” said junior Danny Schaeffer.

“This team honestly has all the intangibles to be great,” said junior Savion Ponce. “We’ve got great depth at every position and are able to perform at a high level. We can win it all.”
