They played hard and demonstrated great skill and teamwork. Unfortunately, this year’s girls’ volleyball team had a lot to live up to after last year’s magical run to the Nassau County Class B championship.

But the Floral Park Lady Knights have much to be proud of, competing against the top teams in Nassau County while once again being placed in the top conference based on ability. At 1-10, Floral Park earned the seven seed, and faced 10th seeded Plainedge High School. The Lady Knights lost a coin flip with MacArthur that would have given them the six seed.

Floral Park gave a valiant effort but ultimately fell to Plainedge in three games, 25-11, 25-23, 25-22.
