Black History Month is dedicated to honoring the contributions, achievements, and the integral roles of African Americans in U.S. history. This February, we celebrate and honor the culture of African Americans and the inspirational people who fought the struggles of racism, slavery and other issues that were presented to them because of their racial appearance. African American culture is defined through their traditions in music, food, culture, religious values, and their main identity that aims at overcoming racial stereotypes and oppression. Many inspiring role models that are looked up to during this month of honor include Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and many more who made history with their resilience, intellect, and courage.
Black History Month is celebrated all around the world and allows us to give the respect that African Americans deserve as well as continue that respect for many years to come.
