Every year, students and teachers in FPM and across the country wear the color purple, along with participating in something called PS I Love You Day, but what is that really about?
PS I Love You Day is a movement focused on spreading kindness and raising awareness regarding mental health. It was created in 2010 by sisters Brooke DiPalma and Brianna DiPalma in honor of their father. They wanted to turn their loss into something positive by encouraging more representation about mental health and reminding individuals that they are not alone.
The day stands for ending bullying, preventing suicide and reminding that small actions like a compliment or a simple check in on a friend can make a real difference.
For our school community, PS I Love You Day is more than wearing purple, it represents support. Though, most importantly, it also reminds our community that kindness matters and sometimes the simplest words can mean the most, such as,
P.S. I love you. 💜
