Floral Park Memorial High School held its annual International Night on March 11th, and it was definitely a night to remember. The entire gym was packed with students and families who came out to celebrate all the different backgrounds that make our school so unique.
Tables lined the gym representing all different countries, including Greece, Ukraine, Estonia, Japan, Korea, and Norway just to name a few. Each spot facts about the country and many eye-catching decorations, so you could basically travel around the world without actually leaving the school.
The best part for most people was definitely the food. You could try everything from Greek dishes like Spanakopida to snacks from Norway such as Jarlsberg cheese and crackers. It was amazing to see students and their parents bringing in homemade meals from places like Ukraine, Japan, and Korea. Everything tasted fantastic, and it was a great way to experience different cultures through their cooking.
In addition to the food, there was also lot of talent on stage. Students performed different dances and songs that represented where their families are from. The dedication and practice they all put into their performances was clearly shown. Each performance overwhelmingly energetic and everyone in the crowd was cheering.
None of this could have happened without the coordinated efforts of Ms. Ochoa. She guided both the students and staff and made sure everything was organized. Thanks to her hard work, the whole night ran smoothly and everyone had a great time.
International Night was a perfect event to showcase just

how diverse our school really is. Everyone is already looking forward to next year!
