On November 24th, Sewanhaka held an Career Open House, where students toured different programs and buildings including cosmetology, pre-engineering, architecture, automotive technology, culinary arts, medical assisting and more! When students are involved in programs such as these, they are able to earn a license and/or multiple college credits, depending on the program. Certain career classes at Sewanhaka can be taken over a course of three years, during 10th through 12th grade. This includes architectural technology and pre-engineering. Other programs such as cosmetology, automotive technology are taken over a two year period during 11th and 12th grade. All programs are free and provide any and all supplies needed for the class. They take up either morning or afternoon classes, typically three to four periods of the school day. If students do not attend Sewanhaka High School, a shuttle bus is sent from their home school to Sewanhaka during the day.
