On October 26th, the Marching Knights of Sewanhaka performed in Syracuse at the VMA Wireless Dome. They brought home a 2nd place trophy with a score of 80.95 and were only 0.25 points away from 1st place in the entire state! The band left for Syracuse on the 25th and performed the last run of their show before departing for the Dome the next morning. Their show “Dead Men Tell No Tales” includes numerous prop palm trees, rocks and even a fake treasure chest. They also had multiple pirate flags, large blue fans and golden flags for the finale. The band, color guard and pit were dressed up, not in their normal uniforms, but in elaborate pirate costumes. The costumes consisted of bandanas, tie-dyed pirate shirts and a gold sash! To add extra jazz, some added their own accessories like hair charms or jewelry during the performance. Let’s go Marching Knights!
